What is the system called when each individual workstation is run by the server.?

Most banks use this type of setup. Each station will not have a tower or HDD, usually only a monitor. I ume each user has a profile and they logon, and then all data input into the system is just saved to the server. It's hard for me to explain because I don't know much about it.
