Why shouldn't footballers receive such high wages from a logical viewpoint?

Tens of thousands of fans pay lots of money to see them play every week, they generate huge income for the club they play for whether it through ticket sales or endorsements or tv. The money is already with the club, the owners are not exactly the ones the fans pay to see so why should they get all the money? Also, they pay mive income tax, wayne rooney pays roughly �127,000 tax of his �250,000 weekly salary. Where's the educated, logical argument against their mive salaries? Thanks for your time.
