Is my dog a pot head?

I have used medical marijuana legally (prescribed through physician and through government) for five years and my dog is a 6 year old mutt, about 40 pounds. I do not get the dog high but the dog is in the same room for the last five years when I have smoked. So I move into a new place April 1 and neighbors complained of the smell. So after I received the complaint I began smoking in the kitchen, blowing the smoke into the vent so as not to offend anyones nose. Here is the thing, the dog comes into the kitchen and watches every time I smoke and for the duration! This is not a dog to follow around or stare at me, but he stares the entire time. I make him leave the kitchen and he stands at the door of the kitchen in the hall watching me. I thought at first it was just because I was doing something new, but it has been weeks now and he is still watching me. What could that be about? Tonight he actually whined when I was smoking? And I am not a troll, I am seriously perplexed by my dog's behaviour.
