Drug and Alcohol testing?
As a hard working, over-taxed, middle-cl American citizen, I think that too much of my hard earned money that the government takes away from me is going to people that don't deserve it. For example: I know a couple that are living solely on disability. They moved into a very nice home in a sub-division at a lake resort area where people usually take their vacations. They both drive fairly new vehicles and neither of them work at all, although they are both physically and mentally able to. Essentially you and I are paying their bills, they are living better than those of us who work hard for their money and barely make ends meet. The thing is, they drive roughly thirty miles to town nearly every day to get beer and cigarettes, and they smoke marijuana on a regular basis. In another situation: I know a lady who lives entirely on welfare with her two children. You and I pay for her to eat steak once a week, live in a three bedroom house, and give her children name brand clothing and shoes. While our children wear clothes from goodwill and have never eaten a steak in their lives because we can't afford it. All the while, this woman, that can't afford to live on her own money, goes out and buys drugs and alcohol. Wouldn't it be great if there was mandatory drug and alcohol testing for people on welfare and other government istance programs? One strike and you are cut off forever- Why hasn't this been done yet? This could probably save You and I a lot of money if people who were abusing got cut off. Can't this be done?
