Christians: What do you say about a wife who deserts her husband if he doesn't go to her church?

A husband and wife went to the same church together for 10 years. One day the husband came to the conclusion that many of the teachings in that church were not scriptural and decided to leave it. However he did approach the leaders of that church about these false teachings but they didn't want to hear anything about it. He then denounced the practices of this "church" publically as he felt that many new comers would not be aware of those things going on behind-the-scenes and felt obligated to warn them. The wife then deserted her husband because of this and the church she went to even condoned her action, believing her husband had chosen the wrong way. The husband tried for 3 years to get his wife to return to him but she refused. He even wrote a letter to her "church" elders criticizing them that they brainwashed his wife into forsaking him and that they never expelled her from their church for deserting her husband for invalid reasons. After 3 years of many attempts to get her to come back, he came to the conclusion that it was futile and decided to get a divorce on the grounds of desertion. What would you say about such a woman as well as that "church"? Was the husband right to eventually divorce her?
